Host City

London, host city of the London PropTech Show

London is regarded as Europe’s proptech capital, driven by the fact that the city has a go-getting approach to embracing digital innovation.

The high-tech city hosts some of the leading client bases that are spearheading the country’s proptech boom. London is home to 500+ proptech startups that top the investment and innovation leadership in the PropTech movement. According to various reports, over £450m of venture capital alone was invested into London’s proptech sector in 2020, amounting to 43% of all European proptech investment — allowing industry stakeholders to capitalise on the huge market opportunities.

London’s proptech industry is emerging as one of the most promising sectors to invest in and has gained momentum, particularly in light of London’s global sustainability initiatives and net-zero goals. Ever since sustainability became an all-important subject for the British capital, proptech adoption is the collective voice that echoes from the entire built-environment community to meet net-zero standards.

The built environment contributes about 30% of annual greenhouse gas emissions. To cut those emissions significantly, London has pledged that all new buildings will operate at net zero carbon by 2030 as part of the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment — and, most importantly, to deliver on the larger commitment of making a carbon-neutral future a reality in London.
